grub grub grub grub grub repeated message LINUX

 Dear Friends,

My linux system was giving multiple or infinite message of GRUB:-

GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB

Now to solve this, google our Best friend helped me  in resolving this problem.

Step 1 :- Created a bootable USB.
Step 2 :- Booted the system with setting the USB bootable option in BIOS.
Step 3 :- when booted, 3 options appeared as usual to install the OS, booting to rescue mode.
press F5 key to rescue mode and bring to prompt.

now write

linux resuce

it will bring the system to rescue mode with selection of Language and an option to skip the network connectivity. We also have to skip the mounting of File system part.

It will bring the system to # prompt.

From this # prompt i.e. linux rescue mode. We can reduce the root volume if needed. SO bringing the topic back to grub issue.

Now write command grub at linux rescue # prompt. it will bring the system to grub> prompt. like below :-

#
#grub
#

grub> find /grub/stage1
(hd0,0)
grub> root (hd0,X)
grub> setup (hd0)

after this my system was booting. and the message which was coming, gone.

but it showed corrupted lines in kernel and disk selction so edited the same and then rebooted.

we need to use tab and write the correct kernel path, boot the system with the correct path of the kernel. System successfully rebooted. For making this change permanent. we need to edit the file /etc/grub.conf. like bwlow is the system gub.conf which worked well.

[root@localhost grub]#
[root@localhost grub]# cat /etc/grub.conf
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE:  You have a /boot partition.  This means that
#          all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.
#          root (hd1,4)
#          kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
#          initrd /initrd-version.img
#boot=/dev/sdb
default=0
timeout=5
splashimage=(hd0,4)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
hiddenmenu
title Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (2.6.18-308.el5)
        root (hd0,4)
        kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18-308.el5 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet crashkernel=128M@16M
        initrd /initrd-2.6.18-308.el5.img
title Other
        rootnoverify (hd0,0)
        chainloader +1
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root
[root@localhost grub]#

My system's Other OS is Windows which was also facing problem While booting up. Now it is also fine.

Now my system is giving me an option of booting the system with DUAL BOOT option.

Love Sharing
